The challenge faced by a cancer sufferer is not one posed by the disease itself, but one imposed by the society. The wider society has been programmed to sentence people diagnosed with cancer to 'death' even without giving them a chance. Consequently, anyone who hears the "c-word" cringes in fear. It is like a death sentence. This situation has not been helped by the obvious fact that most of the cancer sufferers we've known have either died, are suffering or are in severe pains.

Of utmost concern is the attitude of the cancer establishments in the world who benefit from preventing cheap remedies from reaching the people. The impression is deliberately created that cancer drugs are expensive. To quote a doctor in New Zealand: "Cancer is a disease of the rich." That sums up the attitude of those who are in a position to offer hope and succor to the afflicted.
